What I Liked About It:
One of the cheapest premium tiers in the AI girlfriend space at $9.99/month
Unlimited text messages once you're a member, no counter breathing down your neck
In-chat images actually match the character's face and body, and they render fast
Big mixed library of realistic, anime and manga companions
Character creator shows you a preview image for basically every option, so you're not guessing
What I Didn't Like:
The standalone image generator wouldn't produce nudes for me, only chat would
Chat writing is stiff and formal, reads like customer support with a sex drive
Loads of features are still marked coming soon, and you're paying for a beta
You can't name your custom girlfriend, which is a weirdly basic thing to miss
Browsing the full character list is gated behind an account and then behind payment
Desired Ai Overview: Cheap, Rough Around the Edges, Occasionally Great
Okay so, first impressions. I landed on Desired Ai expecting the usual: wall of girls, a couple of filters, a signup wall somewhere around the third click. Got exactly that. What I didn't expect was getting blocked twice, once to make an account and then again when I tried to actually browse the full roster and it wanted money. That's pushy even by the standards of an industry that is, let's be honest, extremely pushy.
But then I paid, because that's the job, and things got better. Not amazing. Better. The chat is fast, like genuinely fast, messages come back in a couple of seconds and the images she sends mid-conversation land in maybe ten or fifteen. And they look like her. I had a masseuse character, Asian, mid-thirties, sex drive set to horny in her profile (which is a hilarious way to display a stat), and when I told her what I wanted she just... produced it. Naked, oiled, on a table. Matched her profile pic perfectly.
The problem is everything outside the chat window. The dedicated generator gave me fully clothed girls no matter what tags I picked. Four poses total. If you choose lingerie or cosplay you lose the pose selector entirely, which makes no sense to me. I sat there for like twenty minutes convinced I was doing something wrong. I wasn't. It just doesn't do nudes yet, apparently, unless she's talking to you first. Weird design decision or unfinished feature, I honestly can't tell which.
| Criteria | Editor's Rating |
|---|---|
AI Quality | 3/5 Fast and coherent, but the dialogue is formal and repetitive. She asks if you'd like to see something else roughly every four messages. |
Customization | 3.5/5 Solid character builder with visual previews for each trait, dragged down by no custom naming and no free-text prompts for images. |
User Interface | 4/5 Clean, quick, easy to navigate. The aggressive gating before you can even browse is the main annoyance. |
Value for Money | 3.5/5 $9.99 with unlimited texts is cheap. You're just paying for an unfinished product, so adjust expectations. |
Privacy & Safety | 3.5/5 Discreet billing and no social login pressure, though the privacy policy is thinner than I'd like for a site handling this kind of data. |

What Is Desired Ai?
Desired Ai is an AI companion site where you chat with virtual girlfriends, get NSFW images of them inside the conversation, and build your own character from scratch if none of the existing ones do it for you. Standard genre stuff. The twist, if you can call it that, is the price point and the unlimited messaging, which puts it below most of the big names.
Every character comes with a stat block: age, ethnicity, occupation, body measurements, personality type, sex drive, and a voice option. Ning Wei is a massage therapist and a nympho. Someone else is a college student who's shy. You get the idea. The tagging is decent for filtering by the obvious stuff (age, ethnicity, whether it's a public character or one you made) but there's no way to filter by personality or interests from the main grid, you have to click into each bio to find that out. Small thing. Adds up when you're scrolling through dozens of profiles.
Worth knowing before you sign up: the site openly says it's in beta. Boyfriends are listed as coming. Several other features are listed as coming. So you're buying into a work in progress, and whether that's fine depends entirely on how patient you are and how much $9.99 means to you.
Desired Ai Features
Chat Experience
This is where Desired Ai earns most of its score, honestly. The back and forth feels real time. I'd type something, and before I'd finished re-reading my own message she'd already replied. No spinner, no awkward thirty second wait while the model thinks about its life choices.
Content-wise she's uncensored. Within about three messages Ning asked me what my fetishes were, straight up, no build-up, which is either efficient or slightly unnerving depending on your mood. I told her, she ran with it, and she offered to show me. Fine. Great, even.
What kills it a bit is the register. She talks like a hotel concierge. "Just a moment, please. Would you like me to see something else for you?" That's a real line. There's no teasing, no messiness, none of the small human weirdness that makes these chats actually land. And she'd reference things that never happened, like a previous encounter we definitely did not have. I was distracted enough at the time not to care, but on reflection it's a memory issue and it shows up more the longer you talk.
Customization Options
The character creator is better than I expected. Every single option has a reference image attached, so when you're picking a body type you actually see what "curvy" means on this site instead of finding out after you've committed. Nice touch. More sites should do that.
You pick ethnicity, age range, hair, eyes, body, personality, occupation, sex drive, and a voice. The voice part is frustrating because there's no preview. You choose blind, and the only way to hear her is to become a member, start a chat, and generate a voice message. I picked "convincing" purely because the word made me laugh and I still don't fully know what it's meant to sound like.
And you can't name her. The system assigns one. I ended up with a very pale girl called Aicha Delaunay, which, okay, sure, France is a big place, but this is supposed to be a fantasy generator and naming your girlfriend seems like feature number one. Costs 2 tokens per character, and premium gives you 100 tokens a month, so that's 50 girls if you're feeling ambitious.
Voice & Media Features
Voice messages are premium only and they're... fine. Average. That flat, slightly-too-smooth AI cadence that you've heard on a dozen other apps. Nothing embarrassing, nothing that made me want to keep the tab open either. If voice is your main thing, there are sites doing it noticeably better right now.
Images are the split personality of this platform. In chat, excellent. Fast, on-model, genuinely NSFW, and they look like the girl you've been talking to rather than some generic AI face. Out of chat, in the standalone generator, I got nothing usable. Four poses (lying, sitting, squatting, standing), tag-only prompting with no free text box, and every result came back clothed. The site says you'll be able to batch generate 16 images at once, which sounds great, but that wasn't working properly when I tested.
Free users get exactly one generation. One. So think hard before you burn it.
Desired Ai Pricing: Is $9.99 a Month Actually Worth It?
The pricing is refreshingly simple, which I appreciate after reviewing sites that bolt token packs onto subscriptions onto credit bundles until you need a spreadsheet. Here it's $9.99 a month, or $59.88 if you pay for the year, which works out to about five bucks a month. That's cheap. Like, genuinely cheap for this category where $19.99 is closer to normal.
Premium gets you unlimited text messages, unblurred images, voice message playback, faster responses, and 100 tokens a month for generating characters at 2 tokens each. The free tier is basically a demo: a handful of messages, one image generation, one girlfriend. You'll hit the wall in about four minutes.
Is it worth it? If you want a cheap sexting companion with good in-chat visuals and you don't mind that a chunk of the site says "coming soon", yeah, ten bucks is low risk. If you're expecting the full polished experience the feature list implies, you'll feel a bit short-changed. I'd go monthly first rather than locking in a year on a beta.

What Users Say About Desired Ai
Community sentiment is all over the place, which tracks for a site this early. People who came for cheap unlimited sexting are mostly happy. People who came for the image generator are mostly annoyed. The average sits a bit above the middle and the complaints are remarkably consistent, which at least means the problems are fixable rather than mysterious.

For ten bucks I'm not gonna complain much. Unlimited messages is the selling point, I've been chatting with the same character for two weeks and never hit a limit. The pics she sends in chat are legit good. Just wish she didn't talk like a receptionist.

Spent an hour trying to make a nude with the generator and got nothing. Clothed, clothed, clothed. Then found out you have to ask her in the chat instead. Nobody tells you this anywhere. Fix the generator and I'd bump this up two stars.

Honestly better than I expected for the price. Response speed is the best part, feels like texting someone real. Memory is shaky though, she kept mentioning things we never did.

Half the site is coming soon. I paid for a year which was dumb of me. The chat works fine but I feel like a beta tester who's paying for the privilege.

Character creator is actually really well done, the little preview pictures for each option save so much guesswork. Losing a star because you can't name her yourself, which is insane to me.

Should You Try Desired Ai?
Short version: it's a decent cheap sexting app wearing the marketing of a full AI companion platform. If you go in knowing that, you'll probably be fine. If you go in expecting everything on the feature list to work today, you're gonna have a bad afternoon.
Pick Desired Ai if you:
You want unlimited chat without the token anxiety: Ten dollars a month for genuinely unlimited text is one of the better deals going right now. Most competitors meter you and it changes how you talk, you start rationing messages, it kills the mood. Not an issue here.
In-chat images are your priority: The images she generates mid-conversation are the strongest part of the whole site. Consistent with her avatar, fully NSFW, quick. If that's what you're paying for, you'll get it.
You're budget conscious: At $59.88 a year it's about five bucks a month. That's less than most people spend on coffee in two days, and it's roughly half what the bigger names charge.
You like building characters visually: The preview image for every trait option is a small feature that makes a big difference. You know exactly what you're picking instead of rolling the dice and hoping.
Stay away from Desired Ai if you:
You want a standalone nude generator: It doesn't work for that right now. Four poses, tag-only prompting, no free text, and clothed results every time I tried. Everything NSFW has to happen inside a chat.
You care about natural, immersive writing: The dialogue is stiff and weirdly polite, with repeated phrasings and shaky memory. If you want a companion who actually feels like she has a personality, other sites are further ahead.
You hate paying for unfinished software: Boyfriends, batch generation, and several other listed features weren't functional when I tested. You're funding development, essentially. Some people are fine with that, some really aren't.
Voice is your main draw: The voice output is generic and there's no preview before you commit to one during character creation. It's serviceable and nothing more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Desired Ai free to use?
There's a free tier but it's very thin. You get a small number of messages, exactly one image generation, and one AI girlfriend. Images come through blurred and voice is locked. It's enough to see whether you like the vibe, not enough to actually use the thing. Premium starts at $9.99 a month.
Can Desired Ai generate NSFW images?
Yes, but only inside a chat. Ask your companion directly and she'll send genuinely explicit images that match her avatar. The standalone generator on the site kept giving me clothed results no matter which tags I selected, which seems to be a beta limitation rather than a censorship thing.
Is Desired Ai safe and private?
Reasonably. Billing is handled discreetly and there's no push to connect a social account. That said, the privacy documentation is lighter than I'd want from a platform storing this kind of chat history, so use a throwaway email and don't upload anything identifying. Standard advice for the whole category really.
Can I create my own AI girlfriend?
You can, and the creator is one of the better parts of the site, with a visual preview for pretty much every option. Each custom character costs 2 tokens and premium members get 100 tokens a month. The one glaring gap is that you can't choose her name, the system assigns it for you.
How does Desired Ai compare to Candy AI or Ourdream?
It's cheaper and the chat speed holds up, but the writing quality and feature completeness aren't there yet. Candy AI has more polish and better conversational depth. Ourdream does more with images outside of chat. Desired Ai's argument is price, basically, and unlimited messaging for ten bucks is a real argument.
Are there AI boyfriends on Desired Ai?
Not at the time I tested. It's listed as coming soon along with a few other things. Right now it's girlfriends only, so if you're specifically after male companions you'll want to check back in a few months or look elsewhere.
Final Verdict: Is Desired Ai Worth It?
I want to like Desired Ai more than I do. The bones are there. Fast chat, unlimited messaging, images that genuinely look like the girl you're talking to, and a price that doesn't make you wince. That's not nothing, and for a tenner a month it's arguably the best value in the category on pure cost per message.
But the cracks are everywhere once you look. The image generator that won't generate the one thing everyone's here for. The dialogue that reads like it went through a corporate tone filter. The features sitting behind "coming soon" labels while your card gets charged anyway. And the fact that you can't name your own custom character still bugs me, days later, because it's such a small fix.
So here's my take. Pay the $9.99, go monthly not yearly, and treat it as a cheap sexting app with a nice image feature bolted on. Under those expectations it delivers. Skip the annual plan until they ship what they've promised, and if you want the properly immersive, personality-driven companion experience, spend a bit more elsewhere for now. Check back in six months. There's a decent chance this turns into something good, it just isn't quite there yet.
