The catch: the site's “Save 64%” badge is measured against crossed-out prices nobody actually pays, and the real annual saving works out to 17% to 27%.

Coins are the currency behind photos, videos and calls. A photo in chat costs 3 coins, a video costs 25 coins, and a voice call runs 1 coin a minute. On the entry-level Casual plan, 150 monthly coins convert to roughly 50 photos or 6 videos, so video-heavy use burns through the allowance fast.

HeyGF suits people who want a large roster of characters written by people rather than generated, a working image studio, and a cheap unlimited-chat entry point. The main weakness, according to hands-on reports, is the chat itself: it stays in character but is basic and overly agreeable, and its recall of earlier days is unreliable, even though HeyGF says she remembers conversations across days.

There is nothing to install. HeyGF runs entirely from a browser on a computer or a phone, with sign-in through email or a Google account that shares only a name, email, profile photo and identifier.

HeyGF presents itself as a library of 141 handcrafted characters, each written by real people rather than generated automatically, with new characters added on a regular basis. The site frames every character as having her own mood and boundaries, describing the chat as something you have to earn rather than something handed to you instantly.

HeyGF has three subscription tiers, billed monthly or annually. Monthly: Casual is $9.99 a month with 150 coins a month. Closer is $19.99 a month with 350 coins. Exclusive is $39.99 a month with 800 coins. All three unlock unlimited messages, photos, videos and audio, and every character.

Billed annually, the same three tiers work out to $8.33 a month (Casual, $99.99 a year), $15.83 a month (Closer, $189.99 a year) and $29.17 a month (Exclusive, $349.99 a year), with 1,800, 4,200 and 9,600 coins a year respectively, the same monthly allowance as the equivalent monthly plan. The full photo gallery for each character only unlocks on an annual plan.

The pricing page shows “Save 44%,” “Save 55%” and “Save 64%” badges on the three annual plans, and the plan selector headlines “Annual Save 64%.” These percentages are calculated against crossed-out monthly prices of $15.00, $35.00 and $80.00, figures that work out to exactly 10 cents per coin in each plan's monthly allowance and that nobody actually pays, since the real monthly prices are $9.99, $19.99 and $39.99. Measured against the real monthly price, the annual saving is about 17% for Casual ($99.99 versus $119.88), about 21% for Closer ($189.99 versus $239.88) and about 27% for Exclusive ($349.99 versus $479.88).

Coins fund photos, videos and calls. A photo in chat costs 3 coins, a video costs 25 coins, and a voice call costs 1 coin a minute. The smallest pack, 40 coins, buys about 13 photos at roughly 46 cents each, more than double the per-photo cost inside Casual. Coin purchases are final and non-refundable.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from account settings, and stay active through the end of the paid period with no refund for partial periods. HeyGF says refunds are considered case by case, only for billing errors or technical faults, by emailing contact@heygf.ai. A “Have a code?” field on the pricing page accepts promotional codes. Billing uses a neutral merchant name, so a statement will not read “AI girlfriend.”

HeyGF is operated by Y2A LLC, registered at 8 The Green #21065, Dover, Delaware. The terms are governed by Delaware law and require binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, on an individual basis only, with any claim filed within one year. The terms were last updated May 24, 2025, the privacy policy on September 11, 2026, and the moderation policy on October 12, 2026.

The service is restricted to people over 18, a rule stated in both the terms and the privacy policy, and every character page lists an age of 18 or older. Payment partners named in the terms include Epoch, and HeyGF says it accepts all major payment methods with a neutral billing descriptor.

There is a gap between how HeyGF talks about privacy in two places. The About page says “We never share your personal data” and its FAQ adds “We do not share personal data with third parties.” Section 6 of the privacy policy says something different: when you register, sign in or make a purchase, HeyGF can share identifiers such as email, name and an account ID with advertising and analytics partners, including Meta, Google, Microsoft, Reddit, X and PostHog. The privacy policy does say personal data is not sold, and that conversations are not used to train AI models, with data stored on Google Cloud through Firebase, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Deleting an account from Settings logs you out and blocks you from signing back in, but HeyGF keeps a record of the account and its email for fraud prevention and billing records. Full deletion requires emailing privacy@heygf.ai from the account's own address, with a 30-day window. The moderation policy bans content involving minors or anything suggesting them, incest, animals, celebrities or real people, extreme violence, gore, non-consensual content and political content, with filters before and after generation and human review of flagged material.

One more contradiction worth flagging: HeyGF's terms discourage and do not approve downloading photos, videos or audio from the service, while the Girlfriend Studio page itself invites users to “Save it, regenerate, or refine.” Generated images are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. HeyGF also advertises a self-reported “Rated 4.8/5 by 50,000+ users” with its own testimonials, a figure that cannot be verified independently and should be read as marketing rather than an outside rating.

HeyGF's strongest asset is breadth: 141 characters written by hand, a studio with reference images and animation, and a creator with six real customization areas and no cap on how many characters you keep. At $9.99 a month for unlimited chat, the entry price is reasonable, and the free tier, while thin, is enough to test the characters before paying anything.

The chat itself is the weak link. Hands-on reports describe a bot that stays in character but rarely surprises you, repeats itself over long sessions, and is unreliable about earlier days despite HeyGF's claims about memory. Add an inflated discount badge and a privacy policy that contradicts the About page, and HeyGF reads as a photo-and-character-first site rather than a conversation-first one.
